Not all events in the world of horology require a trip to Switzerland. Next week is Madison Avenue Watch Week, and from April 8-13th, you will have myriad opportunities in New York City to interact with your favorite brands. Demonstrations, events, and exhibitions will be taking place up and down Madison Avenue, and today we've got your guide to the week's festivities.
Taking A Closer Look
Participating boutiques are located on the long stretch of Madison Avenue between 57th and 86th streets, and cover a diverse range of price points and styles. Whether you're into dress watches, sport watches, vintage, modern, etc., there's going to be something you'll want to check out. Everyone from Blancpain to Vacheron Constantin and Breguet to Porsche Design is participating.
Antiquorum's April 10th auction is one of the centerpieces of Watch Week, and it is open to the public. Some really fantastic pieces will be hitting the block (including these two amazing rose gold watches) and if you've never been to a watch auction before it's a great experience.
The very special FP Journe Quantième Perpétuel will make its American Debut
Brands will be offering previews of their latest collections to the public, so if SIHH and Baselworld aren't on your calendar, this is the perfect chance to see what's new in horology. Some brands will also be giving select pieces their American debuts, such as FP Journe and the Quantième Perpétuel.
